This month's Volunteer Opportunities

It’s a New Year, and at the Volunteer Resource Center it’s time for New Volunteer Opportunities!

Skiing and Snowboarding Coach - Special Olympics – Coaches are the most needed volunteers at the special Olympics. Serving as a volunteer coach is a unique way to enhance the lives of people living with intellectual disabilities.

Save the Condors  - Community Hiking Club – Come remove construction materials that have been dumped, micro-trash (broken glass), and other litter from the Magic Mountain (the mountain not the amusement park). Recently a baby condor was found dead with bottle caps and glass chards in its stomach. This is why it died. We are cleaning this up for the condors. January 26, 2007.

Focus the Nation – COC Sustainability Development Committee - It is "an ambitious educational initiative that will culminate in national symposia held simultaneously at over a thousand colleges, universities, high schools and other institutions"; it is to "collaboratively engage in a nationwide, interdisciplinary discussion about 'Global Warming Solutions for America.'" Volunteers are needed January 19, 20, 26, 27 and 31st.

Blood Drive Volunteer – Come help with registration or in the canteen at our local blood drives on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, or in various locations all over Santa Clarita Valley with the mobile blood van.

Senior Meal Packer – Put smiles on the faces and warm the hearts of homebound seniors when you deliver meals at lunch time.
