The Volunteer Center of Santa Clarita Valley host to its seventh-annual Make A Difference Day, America's largest day of volunteer service, on Saturday, October 27, 2007. Local residents, businesses, schools, and youth and service groups will join millions of volunteers across America in donating time and talents to better their community.

Make A Difference Day features hands-on projects benefiting area nonprofit agencies and schools that produce visible, positive results in one day. The event is sponsored by the Volunteer Resource Center of SCV in partnership with the City of Santa Clarita. Last year, 700 individuals representing families, service groups, newcomers, corporate teams, and city volunteers worked together to complete 30 projects.

Community and business leaders are invited to become sponsors of the MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY event. This event receives excellent media exposure via TV, radio and press in addition to reaching out to every business and resident of the valley in an effort to expand volunteerism for all local nonprofits. So many nonprofits receive valuable help and exposure, and thousands of their clients benefit from the work done on MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY. Sponsorship is an excellent way to demonstrate your sense of community and commitment to making a difference.

The committee is anticipating that more than 700 SCV volunteers will participate in over 20 projects on Make A Difference Day 2007. Business groups, religious organizations, school clubs, families and individuals are invited to participate as sponsors and volunteers.
