Do you want to make a difference in your community?

Well, you don’t have to wait until you are a “grown up” to start. By volunteering you can make a difference right here, right now. The Volunteer Resource Center is looking for two student volunteers from each high school to serve on their Youth Volunteer Council. These students will serve as representatives from their schools and give input on their areas of concern, and design and participate in volunteer projects addressing their areas of concern.

The council members will be required to attend monthly meeting at the Activities Center in Santa Clarita as well as the monthly YVC service projects that they will help create. No past leadership positions or affiliations with service clubs are necessary be a Youth Volunteer Council Representative. We are looking for dedicated students that can sign up for the 2008- 2009 school year.

What’s in it for me?

This is a great way to meet new people, build leadership skills, gain awareness of social issues in our own community, and make a difference.  Oh, and did we mention this would look great on your resume and college application!
