The SCV Resource Center is joining with the City of Santa Clarita to present the seventh annual Make A Difference Day event on Saturday, October 25, 2008. We would like to invite your organization to join us by submitting a proposal for a volunteer project.
Volunteer projects must be “hands-on” with visible positive results in one day and will be chosen for their effectiveness and long-term positive impact on the organization and the community. Make A Difference Day activities include a full range of projects, such as: school clean-ups and renovations, book and clothing drives, visits to hospitals and nursing homes, meals for the homeless, painting offices and buildings, landscaping a school yard or facility property, planting a community garden, brush clearance, neighborhood clean-up, and home repairs.
The community service organizations selected are responsible for planning and executing the projects, including all costs, supplies, and insurance coverage. The Make a Difference Day event committee will support the projects with recruitment of volunteers, logistical organization, and media coverage.
Projects will be selected and organizations notified no later than August 24, 2008. If you have questions, please contact us at (661) 294-2573 or e-mail office@scvrc.org.
Project Proposals must be submitted as soon as possible via mail, fax or email to:
